Reiki is an ancient Japanese (non-invasive) healing art that promotes relaxation, improves the flow of energy and balances the body by reducing emotional and physical stress. Reiki is derived from the Japanese word "Rei" meaning "universal" and "Ki" which refers to the vital life force energy that flows through all living things —We are energy and everything is energy. Everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy. Our "Ki” or energy should be strong and free--flowing. When this is true, our body and mind is in a positive state of health.

During a Reiki treatment session, the practitioner gently places their hands either directly on, hovering above or at a distance; guiding and stimulating your body's natural ability to heal. Reiki energy flows through your energy centers also known as meridians or the chakras (wheels of light). When your chakras are clear and open, energy can flow freely like a river within your body. When the chakras are "blocked" or stagnant due to trauma and stress, the body will display symptoms of "dis" ease such as pain, anxiety, depression, inflammation - a major contributing factor to disease process. Reiki can also be sent at a distance because energy is not confined by space and time.
